so….this was an interesting weekend 
I really didn’t know what to expect going to the FEVER audition. Scared? Yeah…cuz I’ve never done this before….all I could do is expect that it’s gonna be intense. A lot of younger people auditioning…geez, i’m 21…so a good chunk of them are gonna be younger than me…hahaha! Lots of returners…one thing I instantly noticed, was how tight each of them were….like, the experience within the corps was responsible for their close relationships….it was cool to see, and it made me want to do it more.
No other people came to audition for the Drum Major position….so Mike and I are the DMs….which is cooh! I’m glad it worked out, cuz i was pretty nervous to begin with. Did the typical drum major thang…ran the metronome, ran errands, and heck…I even go to do BASICS!!! Dude…lemme tell you…..it’s been YEARS since I’ve been IN a visual block….i’ve been running them for 3 years….and now I’ve the chance to actually BE in one…and that’s so tight. Quite the humbling experience….haven’t marched in years (cuz i’ve been a DM), but i’m really excited….
Got to conduct the hornline today, and it was pretty cooh….they actually respond very well, which i really like. I just hope that I’m worth LOOKING AT when i’m conducting….i don’t wanna look stupid up there 
….
Anyway….just got back about 30 mins ago. It felt very different being in that environment this weekend. I guess you could say i felt out of place for a bit….never been in a corps before. But….i’m finding that these people are pretty awesome….i’m looking forward to meeting/getting to know them. Gonna be a crazy time yo….ahightee…i’m outtie…

people came up to me that were on their 3rd year and were very excited you and mike are there. its gonna be tight in Boston.
How exciting!!! I want to do the drum corp thing so bad but I dont know how to play a brass instrument or do guard and I dont know if I would want to be in pit ( not very expirenced anyway) so it is totally awesome you are doing it!!! Congrats!!!

I had a great time! Thx for hanging with me during some of the breaks, im getting used to the people around me. It was strange at first, but its growing increasingly more fun…i love grammar lol. Cant wait till we get to go back! Later!
marcus come on man u know you will be perfectly fine in the drum major spot when the season starts. You just have that energy that everyone could feed off of. Maybe i should audition for drum major and give u and mike a challenge lol haha jk i gota enough with the drumline. But just relax man u will be perfectly fine n everything. As for me im sore..im tired…im worn out but was it worth it??? You are hella tight bro, and you are one hell of a drum major. This year we are goin for the gold, and its definately in reach. With you leading the corps, we are one step closer to that goal.
marcus i can tell you that you most definetly are going to be an amazing thing for this corp. Your attitude and conducting both are amazing and you are going to be a great leader. As far as the bonds you were talking about. yes you are right. they are the most amazing bonds ever. i have never loved so many people so much before. but after an experience like that how can you not. I know that you will most definetly find those bonds, and will help them to grow even stronger than are. You are an amazing person. I hope that you enjoy it as much as we enjoy having you there. ok im outtie (sorry this comment is so long.)

dude you are verry worth looking at. i can tell it’s gonna be good times having you around. and no worries about the whole new to drum corps thing. out of place for a bit is, of course how we all feel in oh-so-intense new environment that is drum corps. gonna be a hella cool year though.
